GCash vs Maya Fees 2026: InstaPay Now ₱10, Cash-In & Cash-Out Compared
InstaPay transfers from GCash and Maya dropped from ₱15 to ₱10 in July 2026. Here’s the full, updated list of what each app charges to cash in, send to a bank, cash out, and pay bills — plus the cheapest way to move your money.
Short answer: as of October 2026, sending money from GCash or Maya to a bank via InstaPay costs ₱10 per transfer (down from ₱15 since July 2026). Sending to another user of the same app is free. Over-the-counter cash-in is free up to ₱8,000 a month, then 2% on the excess. Cashing out at a partner outlet costs 2% on GCash — ₱100 on a ₱5,000 withdrawal.
The single biggest money-saver: don’t cash out over the counter. Transfer to your own bank for ₱10 and withdraw at your bank’s ATM instead.
What changed in July 2026
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas issued BSP Circular No. 1238, effective July 4, 2026, requiring banks and e-wallets to charge “reasonable and fair market-based” InstaPay fees tied to the actual cost of the service. Within days, the biggest players cut their fees:
| Provider | Old InstaPay fee | New InstaPay fee |
|---|---|---|
| GCash | ₱15 | ₱10 (from July 4, 2026) |
| Maya | ₱15 | ₱10 (July 2026) |
| BPI (incl. VYBE, BanKo) | — | Free (InstaPay and PESONet waived) |
| RCBC Pulz | — | First 30 transfers a month free |
| LandBank | ₱15 | ₱8 per person-to-person transfer |
The maximum per InstaPay transfer stays at ₱50,000 for both GCash and Maya. The ₱10 fee applies whether you type in the account details or scan a bank QR code.
GCash vs Maya fees side by side (October 2026)
| Transaction | GCash | Maya |
|---|---|---|
| Send to same app | Free (up to 500 sends and 500 receives a month, then ₱5 each) | Free |
| Send to bank via InstaPay | ₱10 | ₱10 |
| Send to bank via PESONet | Depends on channel | Free |
| Over-the-counter cash-in | Free up to ₱8,000/month, then 2% on the excess | Free up to ₱8,000/month at select partners, then 2% |
| Cash-in from your bank app | Set by your bank (often ₱0–15) | Set by your bank (often ₱0–15) |
| Cash-in via PayPal | 1% (since March 7, 2026) | — |
| Cash-out at partner outlet | 2% | Fee applies; check the app |
| ATM withdrawal with the card | ₱0–18 (set by the ATM) | Free at Maya Bank ATMs; network fees elsewhere |
| Physical card | ₱250 (incl. shipping) | Check the app for current fee |
Cash-in fees: how the ₱8,000 free limit works
Over-the-counter cash-ins at stores and payment centers are free until your combined total for the month reaches ₱8,000. After that, 2% is charged on the amount above the limit.
| Total OTC cash-in this month | Amount over ₱8,000 | Fee at 2% |
|---|---|---|
| ₱5,000 | ₱0 | ₱0 |
| ₱8,000 | ₱0 | ₱0 |
| ₱10,000 | ₱2,000 | ₱40 |
| ₱20,000 | ₱12,000 | ₱240 |
| ₱50,000 | ₱42,000 | ₱840 |
If you regularly add more than ₱8,000 a month, cash in from a bank account instead. Many banks charge little or nothing, and BPI now waives InstaPay fees entirely.
Cash-out fees: the expensive part
GCash charges 2% to cash out at partner outlets like Puregold, Cebuana Lhuillier, and ECPay. Because it’s a percentage, it gets expensive fast:
| Cash-out amount | Partner outlet (2%) | InstaPay to own bank + bank ATM | You save |
|---|---|---|---|
| ₱1,000 | ₱20 | ₱10 | ₱10 |
| ₱5,000 | ₱100 | ₱10 | ₱90 |
| ₱10,000 | ₱200 | ₱10 | ₱190 |
| ₱20,000 | ₱400 | ₱10 | ₱390 |
This assumes you withdraw at your own bank’s ATM, which is usually free. If you have a GCash card, ATM withdrawals cost ₱0–18 depending on the machine, which also beats the 2% outlet fee for anything above ₱900. Run your own numbers in our Cash-Out Fee Calculator.
Bills payment fees on GCash
Many billers are free, but some add a convenience fee:
| Biller | GCash fee |
|---|---|
| Meralco | ₱0 |
| Manila Water | ₱6 |
| PLDT, Smart, Globe Postpaid, Globe At Home | ₱7 |
| Maynilad | ₱10 |
| Easytrip RFID, Autosweep, Converge | ₱12 |
Paying four of the ₱7–12 billers every month costs about ₱400 a year. Check whether your bank’s app pays the same billers for free. Estimating your electric bill first? Use the Meralco Bill Calculator.
Watch out: borrowing inside the apps
E-wallet credit is convenient but not cheap. GCash’s GCredit charges 5–7% interest per month, and GLoan runs 1.59–6.99% per month plus a 3–5% processing fee deducted up front. Even at the low end, that’s well above a typical bank personal loan. Before borrowing, compare the real cost in our Online Loan Calculator, and consider building an emergency fund so you don’t need to.
The cheapest way to move your money (2026 cheat sheet)
- Same app, same app: GCash to GCash or Maya to Maya is free. Ask family to use the same wallet.
- E-wallet to bank: ₱10 via InstaPay on either app. For large, non-urgent amounts, check if PESONet is free in your app.
- Bank to e-wallet: if you bank with BPI, transfers are now free. Other banks vary — compare before you cash in over the counter.
- Getting cash: transfer to your own bank and withdraw at its ATM instead of paying 2% at an outlet.
- Cash-in at stores: keep it under ₱8,000 a month to stay free.
- Batch your transfers: one ₱20,000 transfer costs ₱10; four ₱5,000 transfers cost ₱40.

Bank transfers are now ₱10 on both GCash and Maya, so pick the app your family and billers already use. The real savings are in avoiding the 2% fees: keep store cash-ins under ₱8,000 a month, and get cash by transferring to your own bank instead of withdrawing at an outlet. On ₱10,000 a month, that alone saves over ₱2,000 a year.
