How to save on baggage
- Book during initial reservation: cheapest rate window — up to 30% below Manage Trip prices.
- Manage Trip 6+ hours before flight: still much cheaper than airport counter. All three airlines lock booking online 4-6 hours before departure.
- Weigh at home: a ₱500 digital luggage scale prevents nasty surprises. Overweight fees at counter run ₱300-800/kg.
- Wear your heaviest items: jacket, boots, camera around neck. Doesn’t count toward baggage.
- Split across passengers: if two people traveling with one 30kg bag, sometimes cheaper to book two 15kg allowances.
- Consider higher fare class: PAL Classic includes 20kg free — if you always check bags, upgrade might be net cheaper.
