Maynilad tiered rates (2026, per m³)

Maynilad’s residential tariff uses 7 tiers that get more expensive as usage rises — a conservation incentive:

  • 0-10 m³: ₱24.87 (minimum charge if under 10)
  • 11-20 m³: ₱48.36
  • 21-30 m³: ₱58.90
  • 31-40 m³: ₱70.24
  • 41-50 m³: ₱78.13
  • 51-60 m³: ₱86.51
  • 61+ m³: ₱90.24

Plus 25% Environmental Charge, 25% Sewerage (if connected), and 12% VAT on subtotal.

Manila Water tiered rates (2026, per m³)

Manila Water’s East Zone rates are typically 10-15% lower per tier:

  • 0-10 m³: ₱21.30 (minimum)
  • 11-20 m³: ₱44.15
  • 21-30 m³: ₱52.65
  • 31-40 m³: ₱61.10
  • 41-50 m³: ₱69.55
  • 51+ m³: ₱78.05

Plus 20% Environmental, 20% Sewerage (if applicable), and 12% VAT. Both concessionaires adjust rates via MWSS every rebasing period.

Why the bill has so many line items

Your water bill isn’t just for water — the components are:

  1. Basic charge: the actual water tariff (tiered)
  2. Environmental charge: funds wastewater treatment, cleanup
  3. Sewerage charge: only if connected to sewer line
  4. Maintenance Service Charge (MSC): flat monthly per meter size, covers meter reading + billing ops
  5. FCDA: Foreign Currency Differential Adjustment — hedge against peso depreciation on loans
  6. VAT (12%): government tax on total service

Rates are approved by MWSS Regulatory Office (RO) and adjusted quarterly for FCDA.

How to lower your water bill

  • Stay under 10 m³: tier 1 is much cheaper — single-person households can often hit this.
  • Fix leaks fast: a dripping tap wastes 5-15 m³ per month.
  • Low-flow fixtures: dual-flush toilets and aerated faucets cut usage 20-30%.
  • Rainwater harvesting: for garden or car wash, avoids tap water entirely.
  • Bucket shower: 40-liter bucket vs 60-90L for a 5-min shower.
  • Full load laundry: partial loads waste both water and electricity.

Households that drop from 30 m³ to 20 m³ typically save ₱800-1,200/month.

Disclaimer Rates based on published 2026 tariff schedules from Maynilad Water Services Inc. and Manila Water Company Inc., approved by MWSS Regulatory Office. Actual bill may vary due to quarterly FCDA adjustments, minimum charges, senior citizen discounts, promo rates for lifeline consumers (below 10 m³), meter accuracy, and property classification (residential vs. commercial vs. industrial).
